CARDIOGRAPHIC TECHNICIAN

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • Introduction to performing EKG’s, CPAP monitoring, Holter Event, and blood pressure monitor hookups.
  • Focus on a wide range of Cardiology terminology, along with a basic understanding of cardiac rhythms and abnormalities
  • Perform diagnostic procedures at the request of the physician to evaluate, diagnose, and to provide information to patients



PREREQUISITES

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Recommended that students be familiar with anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, and a pharmacology course in cardiac drugs



PROGRAM HOURS

  • 120 contact hours (75 hours didactic; 45 hours externship)




INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION

  • Certified Cardiographic technicians with
    • 3 years of experience
    • Currently working in the field




CERTIFICATION

  • Prepares for the CCT or Certified Cardiographic Technician exam issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International
