PROGRAM OVERVIEW

  • Anatomy, histology and pathophysiology of the skin as it relates to dermatological laser procedures
  • Basic laser biophysics and laser-tissue interactions
  • Dermatological laser and light source procedures
  • Patient selection, safety considerations, anesthetic options and management of complications
  • Post operative care and procedural techniques
  • Procedures: Laser hair removal, pigmented and vascular lesion removal, treatment of acne, skin rejuvenation and skin resurfacing



PREREQUISITES

  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • No prior criminal record



PROGRAM HOURS

  • 100 contact hours (80 hours didactic and 20 hours externship)



INSTRUCTOR INFORMATION

  • Certified Laser Hair Technician practicing in this field



CERTIFICATION

  • Preparations for the Certified Laser Hair Removal Professional or CLHRP exam issued by the Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal
